Still, if your character is the farmer of the group and will stay mostly out of the action, a thin-skinned hemophobic will give you plenty of points to spend on some great perks in the positive traits side. Tomatoes do have a reason to be grown in that they can be used in mouse traps (IDK why), however they're still bad because the plants grow too few tomatoes and take too long to grow in comparison to cabbage.
